This is not a county or a postocode or an address it is an area between hills in the countryside that has been designated an AONB.
Many places that aren’t in the Cotwolds are quite well known for being in the Cotswolds so it has become a description of a vibe. Look at the map below. Only the areas in dark green are in the AONB. Not Estelle Manor, Soho Farmhouse, RH England or Lakes by Yoo, yet these are the very places alot of buyers would like to be near. The area that is between the A44, the A40 and the A429 ( the Fosse Way ) commands the highest price per square foot because it is nearest the Private Members Clubs, the transport links of the M40 and M4, the railwayservices that go directly into Marylebone and Paddington and the international and local airports including Heathrow, Birmingham and Oxford.
It is also no coincidence that some of the most nationally - and globally renowned - schools and universities are at the corners of this triangle. Oxford, Stratford on Avon and Cheltenham have some of the finest and most well known educational facilities in the world.
There are lots of places in the UK that have beautiful countryside and historic buildings, it is the Transport links, Schools and Leisure Infrastructure make The Cotswolds AONB stand out above the rest.
