Dating back to the 1600s this newly renovated monument was the original county line with each face inscribed with Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire or Worcestershire. The boundaries have long since changed and Worcestershire is no longer one of the corners but the stone has been credited with inspiring JR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings Three Farthing Stone. The next image is a map of the North Cotswolds and where the AONB ends. As you can see, many of the OX7 villages aren’t actually part of the AONB but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful, sought after or expensive, and although their location is OX7 their distance from Daylesford is longer than the CV36 postcode. Finding the right home in the Cotswolds, wherever you would like to be, can be a bit of a challenge. You really need an expert in the area with access to as many off market properties as possible. The last few photos were taken just above Whichford this morning. The views are stunning whatever their postcode.
