What do you know about Paragraph 80 ??
Paragraph 79 is sooo last year & has been upgraded. It is pretty much the same as the original Paragraph 55 and it is the National Planning Policy Framework which allows outstanding architects to create dwellings in rural areas.
The actual Paragraph is now 88 e):-
"Planning policies and decisions should avoid the development of isolated homes in the countryside unless..............
the design is of exceptional quality, in that it:
- is truly outstanding, reflecting the highest standards in architecture, and
would help to raise standards of design more generally in rural areas; and
- would significantly enhance its immediate setting, and be sensitive to the
defining characteristics of the local area."
These projects are obviously huge undertakings, often needing as much imput from landscape architects as structural and taking years from planning to completion, but when they are finished they can be breathtaking. are just two local expamples, Oxpens in Wiggington whose journey is just beginning having been recently awarded planning with the brilliant help of Hughes Planning (www.hughesplanning.co.uk), Seymour-Smith Architects (www.seymoursmith.co.uk) and SEED Landscape Architecture (www.seedlandscape.com).
The other is award winning and nationally acclaimed Ghost House in Moreton Paddox. Recently completed and now on the market visit @trysmack for more details.
